    * Pre-teach vocabulary
    - conquest (n): chinh phục
    - astronaut (n)= cosmonaut (n): phi hành gia
    - lift off: phóng lên
    - uncertainty (n): điều nghi ngờ
    - orbit (n): quỹ đạo
    - psychological (adj) thuộc về tâm lý.
    - feat (n): chiến công, chiến tích

    Questions
    1. Who is the first person to fly into space? – Gagarin
    2. Can you name the first humans to set foot on the moon? – Neil Armstrong & Buzz Aldrin – American astronauts
    3. Who is the first Vietnamese to fly into space? – Pham Tuan

    - T presents or elicits the meaning of these words from the class. (When teaching these words, T helps Ss to pronounce them correctly modeling)
    -Elicits the new words by using different techniques.
    -Asks the sts to repeat(chorus (individually) and copy down the new words in to the notebook
    - T gives corrective feedback.

    ( He was 27 years old then.
    2. How long was he in space?
    ( He was in space in 108 minutes.
    3. What questions were raised before Gagarin’s space flight?
    ( They were - what would happen to a human being in space
    - how the body would react to the extreme changes in temperature
    - how the mind would deal with the psychological tension.
    4. What was the speed of his spacecraft in orbit around the Earth?
    ( It was more than 17,000 miles per hour.
    5. Why couldn’t Gagarin make a new space flight?
    ( Because he died in a plane crash on a routine training flight in March 1968.
    6. What was done after Gagarin’s death to honour this national hero?
    -> His hometown of Gzhatsk was renamed Gagarin, and the Cosmonaut Training Center at Star City, Russia, was given the name of this national hero.
